As someone who has experienced a lot of the bad that can happen to people who look to the Internet for earning an income I can sympathize with the cynicism, doubts and fears of those who do not believe it is possible.
We are also at fault for much of this because we jump in head on without checking to see if we are diving into a swimming pool without water. It’s easy to get sucked into the hype you see everyday on the Internet and in your email inbox.
Personally, I have earned money at almost everything I’ve been involved in online but here is the catch – I have been my worst enemy. I am a recovering business opportunity jumper and never gave programs that started earning me money much of a chance to materialize into a sustainable income.
How did I change that?
First of all, I got into this business for the long haul so I already had that on my side. What I mean is there wasn’t anyone or anything that was going to stop me from achieving success online – that included colleagues, family, friends, and financial condition or lack of thereof.
I remain positive throughout the whole process and forget about the mistakes I’ve made in the past and just concern myself with accomplishing my goals. My other dilemma was not pinpointing those goals according to what I wanted instead of trying to do things based on what other marketers believe is best.
My long-term goals are set but I’m not ready to work on those yet because I believe everything is a process and I continue to enjoy the journey getting to that place. My immediate goal was finding a company with a viable product and/or service and a compensation plan I can achieve.
Now I remain consistent and focused on that goal instead of worrying too far ahead into the future and I just refuse to jump on the next big thing. I may follow you on Twitter, read your articles at EzineArticles.com or Facebook you, but I am still focused on my business.
So those who doubt the ability to start a home based business and earn an income online already failed because you have thrown away any chance you had at success. Try remaining positive and make sure you are not your own enemy because not everyone is trying to rip you off.
