Everyday people get on the Internet searching for overnight riches. The worst part is they believe they will be able to sit on their asses and have a virtual ATM at their disposal.  This belief and those that prey on these people make it harder to convince individuals that you can indeed earn money online as long as you are consistent, focused and prepared to work hard.  You can be successful starting a home based business or joining an established company with that understanding.

Realistically you have a better shot at earning money sooner if you invest a little of it to begin with but I am going to go under the assumption that some of the people struggling to make it in this business are flat broke or are afraid to spend money which is actually more of a truth than an assumption.  You also have the group of people that have been scammed in the past so their trust is non-existent.

Here are 5 quick tips you can use to start earning money online without having no or little money to spend but keep in mind you have to work hard, so if you are consistent and remain focused throughout this process there is no way you can fail:

1. Create content – quality content is the lifeline of your business because you can turn that content into various streams of income.  Writing an article or a blog entry are forms of content creation.

2. Generate traffic – it is critical to your Internet presence by attracting visitors to your site because obviously if no one is seeing it how can you succeed?

3. Build a list – long-term online success is based on relationships and the best way of doing that is to build a list of targeted subscribers you can consistently keep in contact with.

4. Remain in contact – don’t forget your subscribers.  Make sure to keep them in the loop on what you are doing professionally including some personal stuff to keep it friendly and ALWAYS ask if you can help them in any way.  Also, give them some free stuff along the way!

5. Create products – this may sound daunting but all you have to do is write a mini-report, convert it into PDF format and spread it around like a virus – believe it or not that is considered a product.  In the early stages create the reports and give them away for free.

Of course the 5 tips above are just snippets of a bigger picture but it should be evident that it isn’t difficult to succeed at a home based business but there is work to be done especially if you are working with little means.
