In a perfect world you would build a list of subscribers and each person would actively open the email messages you send them and they will always make a purchase. The reality is not everyone will open your emails all the time and some emails may not make it through for various reasons beyond anyone’s control. Here are some email marketing tips to ensure a higher percentage of activity with your campaigns:

1. From Who? – this is one that irks me to no end. Make sure to add your name or the name of your business so when subscribers receive your emails they know where or who it is coming from. All quality autoresponders will give you the option of doing this.

4. Subject Line – although it’s not easy but it is essential to minimize your subject line. Luckily you are not given as much room to write a long subject line but it should be a great motivator for you to keep it short and to the point. Grabbing the reader’s attention is key for them to open up your emails.

Side Note: writing short and powerful subject lines is an awesome way to practice writing for other marketing platforms. They could come in handy if you ever decide to branch out and advertise using Craigslist, Google AdWords, etc.
