It’s been a while since I did a post on traffic exchange marketing because I was extensively testing and tracking a core group of 50 traffic exchanges and wanted to downsize it into a smaller productive group. Knowing the effectiveness of your advertising is critical to long-term success. I don’t care what platform you are using to promote it is critical to know if it’s working or not. Don’t let others tell you something doesn’t work without testing it yourself. You can be leaving a lot of active leads on the table when you list to people who have their own agendas.

Although, I may rotate my squeeze pages at a bunch of traffic exchanges their are ten of them who has been producing tremendously for me both in exposure rate, sign-ups to my lists and down line members at TrafficWave.

Here are those Top 10:

Yesterday I covered William Brant’s new report 13 Deadly List Building Tragedies and it’s quickly becoming as popular as his first report 13 Deadly Traffic Exchange Tragedies. Today, I want to make sure my readers who use traffic exchanges or are having trouble having success with them read this report because it can help you big time!

13 Deadly Traffic Exchange Tragedies covers the following:

=> Tragedy#1 is deadly and fixing just that one thing can double or more your results.

=> Tragedy#2 costs over 75% of all surfers a chance for any success. You must avoid this mistake at all costs.

=> Tragedy#4 keeps people from building a sustainable business. This along with Tragedy#5 almost guarantee failure.

=> Tragedy#5 results in more people failing than any of the others. Avoid this mistake and there is no limit to what you can do…

=> Tragedy#6 cots you money every day. Fix this one thing and your results are guaranteed to improve.

=> Tragedy#9 causes you to waste effort. Fix this problem and maximize your time and money.

=> Plus 7 other things that keep you from making more money with less effort.

=> Plus 3 interviews with people who now make a full time living from traffic exchanges as a bonus.

I want to emphasize William Brant is not just some schmuck writing a bullshit report who can’t back up his success using traffic exchanges. William owns MaxTrafficPro which is one of the more popular TE’s today, so you can’t lose with this report. It’s a mainstay in my PDF library!

Yes, another traffic exchange has burst onto the scene but just like the very recent coverage of another kick-ass TE, List Surfing, this one comes with a lot of excitement because of the experts involved. Farm Traffic takes an experienced TE admin and a very well-known and successful owner to create what will surely be another hit.

The owner, DeeDee Medcoff, is known for helping run successful programs like Dragon Surf, Traffic Bunnies, Traffic-Splash and other SUCCESSFUL traffic exchanges. Not only is she ahead of the game because of her experience but Soren Jordansen also helped build the exchange from the ground up using all the experience he gained from launching Dragon Surf to the top of the TE world.

The design is awesome, the TE runs smoothly, and it comes highly endorsed by many of the top-notch traffic exchange owners. Becoming a free or upgraded member is a smart move because unlike many of the new TE’s that come along and fail to reach it’s potential Farm Traffic is sure to be highly ranked much sooner than later and be around for a very long time.

It seems a new traffic exchange hits the scene every other minute but there are very few that adds a unique twist exciting the TE community like List Surfing has. Personally, I’m excited because it adds a list builder element to the system with a simple process to ensure you get tons of traffic to your websites.

List Surfing is what you get when you combine a traffic exchange with a list builder!

Unlimited Rotation of your site!

Responsive e-mail advertising!

Less work.. More Traffic and Results!

As time goes on I want my entries on testing, tracking and ranking to be much more informative, so I’m working on ways to do that. This is actually the final results of my current campaign which I’ll be ending today and will be starting a new one starting later this week. For now, some of you have been following my posts regarding the 50 traffic exchanges I have been testing and tracking and I want to make sure I give you the Top 10 from that group that gave me the best results.

If you did not read the initial post back in early February, here it is:

Traffic Exchange Marketing – Tracking Your Way To Profits

Based off that post and subsequent results here are my current Top 10 traffic exchanges:

1. TrafficWitch

2. VisitManiac

3. BootScootinTraffic

4. TrafficDynamite

5. TrafficSplash

6. Hit2Hit

7. DeepSeaHits

8. HitBoosterPro

9. FastEasyTraffic

10. TrafficTaxis

These 10 TE’s gave me consistent views and their members gave me the best number of call to action clicks including sign ups. Again, this is all based on my components and criteria so you need to do your own testing and tracking to know for sure what is working for YOU and what is not.

After today, I will be providing a more transparent view of all my testing and tracking, but I want to make sure that it is as concise as possible and that it will remain basic unless special circumstances demands more complex analytics.

If you use traffic exchanges obviously you will be on the TE owner’s opt-in list but are you reading the emails? I belong to hundreds of TE’s but honestly there are few owners who actually use email marketing correctly and by not reading their information you are missing out on some great stuff. Let’s take time out to make sure you are on their opt-in lists.

Before I continue if you are a TE owner please figure out a way to make sure your emails don’t read as being sent by admin, webmaster, no-reply, etc. That is an impersonal approach to your subscribers and it almost guarantees I’m deleting those emails without reading them unless they have a kick-ass subject line which is usually NOT. Unless I sent a support ticket and the email reads from support it’s hard to take an anonymous sender’s email seriously.

How should it read? Glad you asked. It should have a person’s name or the business name.

Okay, now that I got that out the way let’s put the spotlight on the emails I have no problem opening and in some cases I look forward to reading.

Are You On These 10 Traffic Exchange Owner’s Opt-In list?

1. Jon Olson – owner of ILoveHits. If I was put in a position where I was forced to choose just one person in the traffic exchange industry I could accept emails from it would be this guy. It’s safe to say he is an authority and says like it is. Enough said.

2. Robert Puddy – owner of AdvertisingKnowHow. Everybody knows Puddy. Love him or hate him the guy knows his shit and it extends beyond traffic exchanges so it’s good to learn other Internet marketing techniques because to grow your business there will come a time you want to expand your marketing.

3. Paul Kinder – owner of Traffic-Splash. Paul owns the hottest TE on the planet. I would argue that against anybody. How can you not be on the list of an owner who took a half-ass traffic exchange and turned into a powerhouse in a short time?

4. Soren Jordansen – owner of DragonSurf. Here is another guy that not only owns an awesome TE but also educates his members. Soren wrote the Internet Marketing Success Formula where he shows you step-by-step how to make money online. If you combine this guide with Jon Olson’s The Pizza Plan you can start an Internet business today, so being on Soren’s list is an advantage because of all the stuff you could learn.

5. David Foley – owner of TrafficTaxis. You always sense David’s excitement in his emails. It’s not phony and there is always something cooking so you always look forward to finding out what he has up his sleeve next.

6. Sunny Suggs – owner of BootScootinTraffic. Along with the goodies Sunny will also mix in some educational stuff in her emails so it’s always refreshing to see that owners take the time to also help other members with quality content.

7. Scott Martin – owner of Blue-Surf. Not only is Scott owner of a kick-ass TE but also another person who is representing his industry well and I’m sure that he has some very proud peers. Do I look forward to his emails? Heck yeah! Good info and no fluff. What more can you ask for?

8 Guido Nussbaum – owner of TrafficWitch. Here is an odd occurrence. I was actually on Guido’s opt-in list before he owned a traffic exchange. He had already made a mark in the Internet marketing industry on other niches and bringing that knowledge and fresh new members to surf TE’s has been huge so it is a no-brainer but being on his TrafficWitch list and not reading his emails is your loss.

9. Sean Supplee – owner of VisitManiac. Sean is one of those guys I can relate to and he always has cool stuff going on and more importantly it’s great to follow someone who is making a mark in the TE industry and you can expect big things from in the future so you want to be on his list.

10. Marc Eglon – owner of JetStreamTraffic. Marc is another guy that is up and coming. He is trying hard to brand JST and you could tell his determination by reading his emails. I make sure to read all of Marc’s email because I don’t want to miss a thing.

Are there more traffic exchange owners who care enough to build a relationship with their subscribers? Absolutely, so if you want to mention who are some of your favorite TE owners whose emails you look forward to reading, please leave your comments.

About a year ago, Jon Olson traffic exchange owner extraordinaire integrated a great social tool at I Love Hits and I want to shed light on it because many members are NOT taking full advantage of it. I could be wrong so if I am please send me the link to your ILH Profile Page so I can Tweet it and give you some extra exposure.

PLEASE NOTE: I won’t tweet a half-ass page so make sure you read the following carefully before you send me your link.

Here are 9 powerful components the page offers:

1. Your photo – to succeed at using traffic exchanges people will tell you over and over again how important it is to brand yourself so having your photo on the page is a no-brainer.

2. Your bio – a great opportunity to let people know a little about you which adds to your brand awareness.

3. Your ILH down-line – another way to build your down-line at I Love Hits.

4. Your links – you are given the opportunity to add a link to your blog and a link to your website.

5. Your RSS Feed – you can add your blog or site’s RSS feed giving your ILH page search engine juice.

6. Your networks – you are also given the option to add your URL’s for the following:

Affiliate Funnel

Facebook

Squidoo

Twitter

7. A blog – Jon gives you up to 20 posts to add to the profile page. Here is an opportunity to give some quality content to your readers and lead them to your lead capture pages or a sales page that offers the option for something free to capture name and email addresses. I have one, but I’m considering using up all 20.

8. A button – you can add the I Love Hits – Get To Know Me button to your blog, social network page, and/or site:

9. A members directory – Jon added a link at the bottom of the ILH Profile Page leading to other people’s profiles giving you another avenue for exposure.

I’m serious about tweeting your ILH Profile Page. I’ll also do it on other platforms if you are serious about setting up your ILH Profile Page as professionally as possible. Jon has given you the platform so you really have no excuse. Perhaps, we can all help forward each other’s profile page? Who would say no to some FREE extra traffic? Hell, not me!

If you are a member of ILH then go and get your page up and running and if you are not an ILH member then sign-up because the I Love Hits membership is free to join and the ILH Profile Page is free to use.

Yesterday I listed 5 ways maximum exposure can get you clicks at traffic exchanges, but there was one way I wanted to add but decided to write a stand alone entry for it today. Banner marketing is definitely not as effective as it was back in the day, but they are still being used and if you can stand out from the crowd it is definitely worth using them especially since you are getting free banner impressions.

Here is the link to yesterday’s post if you missed it:

Traffic Exchange Marketing – Discover 5 Surefire Ways Maximum Exposure Will Lead To Clicks

In my experience I have seen a higher rate of clicks on my banner using a photo on it, but not enough to run out and scream “banner marketing rocks!” and it will not guarantee a massive amount of conversion or anything close to it.

There is one thing thing having a banner with your photo on it does and that is give you consistent exposure. At the very least if you can have a banner that is unique and not one that hundreds of affiliates are using you can succeed with it if you brand it correctly. It has to stand out and it must be identifiable to you, your business or message.

Here is a snapshot of a banner I’m using for one of my campaigns – FREE Viral Traffic Automation Guide:

It not only has my photo, but it also has my name. Now, I’m working on having this banner rotate in as many places as possible and I have a lot to go so I’m sure you will eventually run across it often which is what you should be doing with your banners.

I used AdKreator to create the banner myself which allows me to make unique banners, lead capture and splash pages:

Are you maximizing the power of traffic exchanges? I mean do you realize that it goes beyond accumulating credits and impressions? It’s more than using them to build a list and promote your product and services. If you are traffic exchange marketing correctly then you are using splash or squeeze pages, testing and tracking your results and more importantly you are branding yourself.

It’s frustrating to listen to others bitch about how TE’s don’t work but they obviously failed at it because they expect instant results without learning the way to get them and although they may have learned them, but they refuse to put in the work or listen to reason. It’s just stupid not to take advantage of a platform that is easy, free and low-cost.

Branding your face and name is powerful at a traffic exchange because people will start trusting you more and will get a sense of knowing you personally. It’s no different than any other advertising platform today where the social aspect of marketing is critical to success, so do you want to get more clicks to your lead capture pages at traffic exchanges?

Traffic Exchange Marketing – Discover 5 Surefire Ways Maximum Exposure Will Lead To Clicks:

1. Put your mug on every splash page. You have to put your name and photo on your pages. In some cases, I put my name, photo, city, state and my business phone number or my Skype username to prove that I am a real person willing to communicate with them if they want to learn more about what I’m promoting. If you don’t create your own splashes or have one created for you many of the TE’s offer their own where you can personalize the page, so take advantage of that!

2. Read Your Emails. Yes, you heard me right. A lot of times very important contest information is on those emails and you could be missing out on winning some of those contests. Why does that matter? Your name or user name will sometimes be mentioned when you are a winner. Some people notice stuff like that so don’t brush it off.

3. Testimonials. More often than not a testimonial will be linked to your site so if you get the opportunity to provide a testimonial go for it because that is free exposure you can’t neglect. Send a support email if you don’t see a platform to leave testimonials and ask them if they would accept one, but if they don’t accept links then your name and/or photo is just as good.

4. Social Networking. It’s impossible not to meet other TE surfers and owners these days with all the social platforms available such as Facebook and Twitter. You also have the free Affiliate Funnel conference calls and the NetMarketingForum. There are also the blogs and chat features some TE’s have where you can stand out with your participation.

5. Start Pages. One of the coolest features available at many TE’s is the opportunity to buy a spot at the page people see when they enter an exchange. If the traffic exchange is one of the biggies where they have tons of active members that is an awesome way to show those big pearly whites and of course a link to your opt-in pages

and if you want to take your traffic exchange marketing to the next level you should learn the 13 Deadly Traffic Exchange Tragedies by William Brant, owner of MaxTrafficPro.
