I love the post, you don't really discuss Twitter marketing but more so, why you use Twitter. It's nice not hearing someone pitch some crappy info product for a change. I too use twitter to help build a targetted audience, and I agree that it was alot better before all these "Guru's" joined. Though I do fear Twitter will soon start fizziling out due to all the spammers, it's becoming another myspace.

Hi Jimmy,
The main reason I follow people on Twitter is to learn from them, and also find some inspiration! If I can help someone in return, all the better.

Thanks Angela.

Yes, it does help.

I wouldn't say everyone on Twitter is trying to build a business but yes that is probably why my follow to follower ratio is not even.

I won't follow a person if they are bombarding me with sales pitches. It's no different than email spam. I don't mind being sold to as long as it is friendly and tactfully

The diversity and immediacy on Twitter is powerful - that's why I love it:-)

Thank you very much for visiting.

Jimmy,
I look for people who provide true value to the internet community. Of course, everyone wants to build a business, but I try to avoid people who are always selling. No one likes a person who shouts "me, me, me, buy my stuff" all the time. I also prefer to follow people who seem positive. I am enthusiastic about a great variety of things, so my follows probably reflect my diversity of interests. They're not all business-related. Hope this helps.
